I freakin’ love my new Skilhunt M-150!!!

I placed a nice Skilhunt order last month, for a black M150 with a 519a at 5000K, a black E2a with a Luminus SST-20 at 4000K, along with some E3A’s and a spare USB-C 14500 cell.

I’ve had an E2A for a while now. I so absolutely adore it that I had to buy a spare. It isn’t the strongest 14500 on earth, but the beam is sooooooo perfect. The color is just right, and the beam profile is so fantastically even it’s beyond words. The size is also relatively small for a modern AA sized light. Overall, it’s just a very simple, practical and affordable 14500 TIR that happens to throw a heavenly light.

The M150 is…. wow! I love the button on this light. It’s so comfortable to use, and the UI is wonderfully close to my two Manker right angle lights, a very definitely compliment. The UI is incredibly logical, and has 2 sweet moonlight modes. I can’t believe it ships with a USB-C rechargeable for on-the-go charging and a magnetic charge pad for home. It carries supremely deep in the pocket, and even has a magnetic base to boot. The body is almost identical in size to the E2A, so it’s nicely compact. So many great features. This is an exciting light.

The problem? The M150 is super cool and fun and full of nifty features, but I really do prefer the beam profile of the E2A’s single LED TIR. When all is said and done, it’s the beam that matters, right?

Has anybody modded an M150 with a TIR lens? I’m dying to have my cake and eat it too.

I love my M150, but I went the other direction — it has a dedomed 5000K 519A emitter for a warmer CCT and more throw. It’s a great little edc light.

The E2A is a great, simple, slim light. 👍 (I wish they would make a v2.0).

I have both and they’re both such great lights! It’s hard to keep a 14500 like that out of your pocket.

OP have a look at the EC150. It might just be what you are looking for re: beam pattern. Edit: I have been using my E2A for years; and I still love it.

I personally would prefer the 519a with the floody tir and the sst20 in the reflector for more throw but each to their own!

    Congrats!

I also like them both a lot and I consider M150 the best, universal/EDC AA/14500 flashlight, with a great UI, indeed.
Version 4 finally got the Buck driver for efficient use of Li-Ion batteries — there are only few such dual chemistry, AA/14500 flashlights on the market. Actually, Buck is hard to find even in 14500-only lights.

17mm TIRs from Convoy most probably will fit but you might try the alternative, quicker/cheaper approach: 3M Scotch Magic Matte tape or d-c-fix foil — [I’ve installed both of them, in two M150s](https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/s/RagJYSmMlv) and it turned great

By the way, I’ve asked Skilhunt a while ago if H150 will get the Buck driver also, but they replied that they had no such plans. I wonder what would be their reply today.

E2A beam is really nice. My E2A has been my car light for years stashed in the center console. Simple to use. No gimmicks.

D3AA with Hanks new optics is also a very nice beam. Way better than the Carclo triple optics imo. That’s one to check out.

I’ve yet to cave and buy an M150. I know I’ll like it, but I also like a bunch of other lights I already carry in a random rotation. Don’t need another one throwing a wrench into the lineup. I wish I could help on the optic front if I owned one I would have already monkeyed with different optics because I can never leave well enough alone with lights.
