I have two pocket knives, that I like to carry. Both are relatively the same size. But one has more features. Which one should I edc daily? Carrying both would be excessive in my opinion…

I like dedicated knives. I almost always have a bag on me with dedicated tools

I already carry a SAK Compact, so my pick is easy. But the Benchmade is nice, too.

  4. Bean_Eater_777

I would carry the one with a black or dark pocket clip. Shiny chrome pocket clips are a no go for me.

SAK would be my pick 100%, but if you find that you need a sturdier blade day to day, then choose the Benchmade.

Is that the “Taiga Green” Bugout? Love that color, can’t decide if I want the mini or standard size.

  7. WotanSpecialist

I don’t carry a dedicated folder but I’d go with the Alox

I am not fighting for pocket real estate so I like a dedicated knife and a separate multi tool.

The other big thing is when I hand someone a Victorianox they see it as a knife with bonus stuff. If I hand them a leatherman they see it as pliers with bonus stuff. Where I work and spend time, that distinction is a big deal to help people feel safe.

That being said, I love both of these

I carry a Victorinox Pioneer X and a Sheepfoot fixed Blade.
If i had to choose, the SAK

  10. SloppyPlatypus69

    Victorinox Compact with suspension clip.

I would pick the SAK, its more then enough and you get bonus tools. For Camping, fishing etc. maybe the other one but i would prefer a fixed Blade in that Case.

SAK. I carry an old victorinox camping knife so I’m partial, both are nice.

If you have the space, a dedicated knife is better. Period.

  14. FlashyLashy900

Swiss army knife any day of the week. Just the included tweezers and toothpick would make me pick it.

If I had to pick only one it would depend on the day and what’s going on. If it was a chill day with not much expected the bugout, but if planned to be doing more the sak

  16. sentient_coprolite

Headed to work, sak. Walking the dog, benchmade

Le plus polyvalent. J’ai horreur de multiplier les outils dont je ne vais jamais le servir de la moitié.

    I carry a Bugout so that’s my choice 🙂

  19. You got both, you could always swap out ¯_(ツ)_/¯

For me, what I carry is an extension of how I feel or what I need to do for a given day.

  20. If I’ve left the house, it’s almost a garuntee that I have a Swiss army knife in my pocket. I’ve been carrying them for years and have couple that I cycle through.

I’ve EDC’d a Bugout most days for the last 5 years, so that’s where I would lean personally. The SAK is more versatile, without doubt. That said, almost never do I truly run into a need for my Bugout much less everything that the SAK has.
