Title. My sister tried cutting through frozen chicken and it looks like the edge “dented”(?) or rolled over? But is there a way to fix this? Is this knife worth fixing? I have a honing stick (idk the term) will that fix it over time ?

Side question I saw the victorinox recommended a bunch, is it actually that good?

Yes it’s in bad shape and repairing it would be a pita, but they might replace it if you send it back to henckels they have very good warranty service

  2. Dont think its ruined. Give it a good sharpen and its good. Might be able to get the dents out with some handywork.

Just dont let her near any of your knives again.

If it’s really bent sideways, it will be difficult (I cannot see it clearly in the photo) In any case, your rod won’t do it, I suggest you buy a cheap 2 grit stone, like 320/1000, and with a bit of elbow grease, you can have it straight and sharp as well new. A stone is a must have in the kitchen, the rod is for touch up only anyway, it cannot sharpen a dull knife.
