Modify Scales to Bolster?

Ive always wanted a kephart knife. I picked this up some time ago but havent used it. Im wondering if its practical to modify the existing scales and allow me to shape something to contour with the bolster. Im aware it will have some flaws but I dont have the knowledge to re-scale the knife myself. But if I can cut and glue something to the existing scales I can probably sand/shape them to extend with that little bolster. I already have a heavy duty bushcraft knife, so im not looking for this to take on that role. Its a light duty knife
