I designed and commissioned a local knifesmith to make this for me. I bought the steel and brass. the outside metal of the san mai is from a 12ga shotgun I had sawed off. can't remember the actual blade steel but it is sharp AF. wood inlay on the handle is curly koa. did that to help with balance as the solid brass scales made it pretty lop sided. blade is just under 4". still trying to decide what sort of sheath to make for it. any input would be appreciated

Dark, well-oiled leather would really make the brass pop, so that’s my suggestion. However, Kydex is the way to go if you want fully reliable retention or a slimmer carry.
