Chrome has long been part of the Ram Heavy Duty look, but plenty of buyers prefer their trucks with a little less shine. That’s where the new Ram 2500 Laramie Night Edition comes in.

Ram Brazil is adding the trim at the top of its 2500 lineup. It comes as a Crew Cab 4×4 with a 6-foot, 4-inch bed, priced at R$569,990 (or about $112,800 USD).

The sport hood gives this version much of its character. Like Brazil’s 3500 Laramie Night Edition, it features a raised center section with a central opening and side vents. The hood badges move inward onto that raised section, too.

Up front, a gloss-black grille replaces the usual chrome, surrounded by body-color trim, headlight bezels, and bumpers. Dark finishes on the mirror caps, running boards, badges, and 18-inch wheels complete the look. Buyers can still choose from several paint colors, so the Night Edition treatment doesn’t mean ordering an entirely black truck.

The styling changes come with familiar hardware underneath. Power comes from the 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output (H/O) I6 turbodiesel, paired with an 8-speed 8AP1075 TorqueFliteHD automatic.

Brazil lists output at 436 metric horsepower (430 horsepower). Torque checks in at about 1,075 lb-ft. Drivers can select two-wheel drive (2WD), four-wheel drive high (4WD HI), or low range (4WD LO) through electronic controls.

Ram’s Brazilian ratings put maximum towing at approximately 19,727 pounds (8,948 kilograms), with payload rated at about 2,837 pounds (1,287 kilograms). A trailer brake controller, Tow/Haul mode, and power extending towing mirrors are included.

Inside, black leather seats and matching trim carry over the darker theme. The front seats have power adjustment, heating, and ventilation, while driver memory saves two seating positions.

The 12-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Autoâ„¢. A separate 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster can display navigation, keeping directions directly ahead of the driver.

For a truck this size, the camera equipment deserves attention. There’s a surround-view system for maneuvering and a separate camera watching the bed. Adaptive cruise control (ACC) with stop capability, lane-keeping assistance, and blind-spot monitoring are also included.

The lined bed offers roughly 42.4 cubic feet (1,200 liters) of cargo space. Each illuminated, power-locking RamBox provides another 4.3 cubic feet (122 liters), with a 115-volt outlet inside the driver-side compartment.

There’s additional flexibility inside the cab, where folding the rear seat exposes a platform that creates a flat load floor.

Ram says dealership arrivals are coming soon. Paint choices include Bright White, Zenith Silver, Granite Crystal, Diamond Black, and Forged Blue.
