Ford is turning the Mustang Mach-Einto an off-road-oriented electric SUV. Per Ford, the Mustang Mach-E Trail debuts for the 2027 model year, priced as a $2,295 add-on for select all-wheel-drive Mach-Es. With destination and delivery figured in, the Mach-E Trail package comes to $47,335.

What the Trail Package Adds

According to Ford, the Trail builds off the AWD Mach-E with a purpose-built steering rack, 19-inch rolling stock, and CrossClimate 2 all-weather rubber. Ford says ride height climbs 8/10 of an inch at the front and a full inch out back relative to the lowered model – modest lift, but paired with the all-weather tires it points the Mach-E at dirt roads, gravel, and light trail work rather than hardcore rock crawling. For the overlanding crowd, Ford says the Trail carries 400-watt, 120-volt onboard power, enough to run camp gear and small appliances without fully roughing it. Ford rounds out the package with cosmetic touches including unique graphics and blacked-out trim across the front end. This is more capability than a typical car camper needs, and the Mach-E’s instant torque gives fine control at low speeds – useful on loose surfaces where throttle modulation matters.

Bronco Gets a Production ORV Package

Alongside the Mach-E Trail, Ford is moving its Bronco ORV Package from show stand to production. Ford has reportedly been displaying versions of the package since SEMA 2025, and the upgrades have now become production hardware. The ORV Package is a genuine trail-focused build. Per Ford, it pairs a Fox off-road suspension setup with 17-inch wheels available in several tire compounds, along with skid and fuel-tank plates, rocker-panel trail armor, RIGID auxiliary lights, a switch kit, and tow hooks. That spread of underbody protection and suspension work makes it a credible setup for wheeling straight off the lot.
