What do you use knipex micro pliers for?

I’ve considered carry the knipex micro pliers that seem to be really trendy right now, but find myself questioning what they’d actually be useful for? I have a set of 7” knipex I tried using on a brass compressor hose fitting yesterday and they slipped way earlier than I thought they would when attempting to tighten the fitting on. Had to go get a second open ended wrench to snug it on.

Has me wondering what the 4” version would be good for?

I’m beginning to think they are most used for upvotes.

Most of the time I use it to bend something, hold small parts, pull on things, tighten small nuts.

  3. If you can’t imagine an use case, they may not be for you?

  4. Tightening fasteners generally. As a plumber they come in handy a lot

I use mine for pics of my “edc”

You want two of them, and they can separate LEGO and things like that

For making “5 items every man needs” videos on youtube obviously

Most guys carry them in place of tweezers for when they have to pee. Magnifying glass optional. Or so I’ve heard

They have two use cases for me. First use case is when I haven’t brought my tool bag and I’ve just got what’s in my pockets. Ez to carry. Then it’s for when I can’t get a proper grip on something in an awkward spot, or fit a tool in there. This one is small

That is not micro … That is 6 inches …. Are you measuring from the base??

I work at a distillery. I use them on tri-clamps, hoses, CO2 regulators.

Holding my peen when I use the restroom😏

I work in IT, so I use them for holding on to nuts or standoffs while screwing or unscrewing something, general fixing of IT equipment. Or just general office tinkering, like tightening bolts on a chair or something… 3D print tasks… etc etc

  14. I bought them not really knowing the size, they do see use but not as an edc. Everytime a coworker asks a wrench or what ever I always hand them that for a laugh.

Everything, I can’t count how many times these little upvote generators have saved my ass

I use mine by buying it because I bought more than I needed, because of Reddit about a year or two ago, and have not used it a single time

Best I can do is a Leatherman Skeletool, sorry. ^(Mostly for cutting wires and tightening fasteners though.)

I’ve used mine to hold a roach while I ripped it

As a serious answer to the question, I’m an auto mechanic, and there’s a lot of situations where I find myself wanting a little bit of extra grip or leverage on something without walking across the shop to get pliers from my toolbox. They live in my pocket in a mini tool kit that isn’t strictly necessary for my work, but it’s super convenient to have stuff like that at my disposal

I added these to my backpack kit because I had the room. I also carry the 7″ Cobras. I did not think I would end up using them. But then I had a problem with my clutch master cylinder where the rod needed adjusting. Due to where it is under the dash the 7″ cobras had a hard time being able to turn. These smaller ones worked and I was glad I have them. I’ve used them a couple other times in tight spots.

I bought them because I have a tool buying problem and saw something shiny, but they have turned out to be useful.

MVP for hangnails. Otherwise for holding things that I cannot sufficiently pinch.

I find them handy for turning spigots without a handle. sometimes I use them to tighten nuts on my insecticide sprayer equipment. sometimes I use them to pull open crawl space doors. I’ve honestly used mine before to grab something just out of reach. I’ve used them to pick up something nasty before I’ve used them to pull splinters before. I’ve used them to open things where all I had were my nails on my hands that were inadequate, but these did the job. there’s a bunch of different stuff. not used as often as my knife or flashlight though. nothing would ever be used as much as my flashlight

  23. Used mine today to put a license plate on. I’ve used them to pull cactus spines out of my shoes, roach clip, holding a little nail after a few finger bashes, random fixes on my kids bikes, that’s just the stuff I can think of recently

I keep them in my bag. Forget they’re there and never ever use them.
