Too many wheel weights?

Had a shop swap out my tires… is this an obnoxious amount of wheel weights or am I tripping? Rides great but this seems excessive…

Please not both rows double stacked 🤔🤨🧐

Yes. Thats too many. Take it to a different tire shop

They run out of the 10 pounders or something?

Looks like the tires need to be ROAD forced balanced. There machine measures the run out of the wheel and tire. Tells you where to mark both and rotate the tire to match the wheel. Should reduce the amount of weight

That’s scary. I worked at a custom wheel shop. I’ve never seen anything like that. There is no way I’d drive on those. Good luck.

The danger here is to your drivetrain! At 65–70 mph, a typical F150 tire spins at roughly 650 to 700 RPM. At that rotational velocity, a single half-ounce heavy spot exerts several pounds of violent dynamic force outward every single revolution, hammering the axle 11 to 15 times every second. Take it to the shop!!

Heard you like wheel weights so we put wheel weights on your wheel weights.

This is not proper. I would go somewhere else, a reliable, well known shop and have them reevaluate. That’s a catastrophic failure of something expensive waiting to happen.

  9. With own wheels and highway tires it’s way too much. On a 35” AT tire more acceptable.

Have the shop mark the wheel and tire at that position, then break the bead and rotate the tire 180° opposite the mark on the rim. That should take care bring it closer to balance.

Don’t worry that’s just eclipse gum. Will make your tires fresh.
