I was warned these were junk – I’ll give you a review, and then do it again after a few months.

2015 F150 V8 XLT

I was warned these were junk. And I believe you – I do! But my 2015 Sync1 with a 4" screen died, and I was jealous of everyone else's super high-tech Android Auto big screen things.

So I bought the Eonon 12.1" system.

So far here are my thoughts:

Installation isn't too hard. I'm glad I watched some videos, because the documentation is woefully lacking. However being a DIY and tech-nerd sort of guy, it wasn't too hard to figure out.

It's definitely NOT OEM. It looks "decent" or "good for aftermarket".

Functions pretty well so far – however there are a few things I'm getting used to:

I never used the steering wheel buttons before – but now I feel like I have to. The volume buttons on the tablet are picky and I miss the knob. But the steering wheel buttons seem OK so far.

I live in a place with zero cell signal. So when I hop in the truck and turn on Android Auto – I basically can't do anything for the first 0.5 miles of my drive.

With the manual AC controls below the tablet, the AC controls ON the tablet are just wasted space.

I really like being able to say "Hey google, navigate home. Hey google play my 'Space Chill' playlist on Spotify", and then I have a giant map on my screen telling me how long until I get there with neato space music getting me there.

Music sounds good. No different than original radio to my ears ( I don't have premium sound).

Verdict so far – It's fine. Not amazing. Don't feel ripped off. But don't feel like I need to tell everyone to go buy one.

Ask me questions if you want to. I'm sure I left out lots of details.

I feel like you’re tempting me to click a link that we all know you shouldn’t

The radio screen died on my 2014 a couple weeks ago. I put a similar one from Amazon in mine and am very happy with it. The a/c controls on mine were part of the radio so I needed something that would work for that also. Sound is way better than factory in my opinion. Took less than 30 minutes to install. Steering wheel controls work, factory back up camera works, wireless CarPlay.

How much did you pay for it?
