Title says it all, looks like they painted the frame or coated it. Looking for opinions.

Where are you located? These trucks are worth different amounts depending on where you’re at.

That said…I’d be wary of a painted frame. What are they trying to hide? I coat mine every one or two years but only use non-permanent, oil-based coatings (Fluid Film, Surface Shield, Woolwax, etc.). Permanent undercoatings, if not done on the production line, trap unwanted rust and it grows like a cancer.

If you can get it under $10k, go for it. But dealers are little bitches about these trucks and won’t budge. I tried to buy on earlier this year. Had been sitting on the lot for almost 3 months and they wouldn’t come down on price.

It’s insane a truck this old would sell for that much. I can only imagine what my one owner 2011 crew max would go for. 110k miles and all service. It’s my fun truck but I may have to sell at these prices.

Are you worried they tried to cover up rust? It’s a common thing to paint the frame to PREVENT rust. There’s only so much rust that paint can cover, it doesn’t look like there’s any cancerous rust. Frame aside, I like that price if everything else checks out.
