Ram had an especially big week. The new 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee 5.7 proved just how much demand there still is for an affordable HEMI®-powered muscle truck, while Ram also helped carry Stellantis through an otherwise flat third quarter in the United States.

Stellantis’ new Minimum Allowable Advertised Pricing policy also generated plenty of discussion among shoppers and dealers, while a newly published Ram patent gave us another look at those unusual removable jump seats first shown on the Revolution Concept.

Finally, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa is putting a much bigger spotlight on something customers have been asking the company to address for years: quality.

If you missed any of them, here is a quick rundown of five stories MoparInsiders readers were checking out this week.

Stellantis Changes How Dealers Advertise Prices

Buying a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, or Ram vehicle online changed on October 1 when Stellantis implemented its new Minimum Allowable Advertised Pricing, or MAAP, policy.

The big thing to understand is that MAAP doesn’t dictate what a dealer can ultimately sell a vehicle for. Instead, it limits how low dealers can publicly advertise certain vehicles. That means a price shown online may not necessarily represent the best deal available once you actually start talking numbers with the dealership.

For anyone shopping for a new Stellantis vehicle, understanding how the new system works could become pretty important.

Ram 1500 Rumble Bee 5.7 Sells Out Its First Allocation

If Ram wanted proof that buyers are still interested in HEMI®-powered performance trucks, it didn’t have to wait very long.

The initial 2026 calendar-year production allocation for the new 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee 5.7 was claimed just 90 minutes after ordering opened. Within 24 hours, Ram had also filled its available production allocation through the end of the first quarter of 2027.

That doesn’t mean the Rumble Bee 5.7 is permanently sold out, but it does show just how much attention Ram’s new muscle-truck strategy is getting.

Ram Surges As Stellantis U.S. Sales Stay Flat

Stellantis’ overall U.S. sales were basically unchanged during the third quarter of 2026, but that headline doesn’t tell the whole story.

The company sold 324,277 vehicles during the quarter, compared with 324,825 during Q3 2025. Through the first nine months of 2026, however, Stellantis sales are up 3%. The real standout was Ram, with brand sales jumping 29% for the quarter and Ram 1500 sales surging 73% compared with the same period last year.

There were some big winners and losers throughout the rest of the lineup, making the complete numbers worth a closer look.

Ram’s Removable Jump Seats Aren’t Completely Dead

Remember the removable third-row jump seats Ram showed on the 1500 Revolution Concept back in 2023?

Stellantis is still protecting the idea.

A recently published patent application details removable seats that can be mounted behind the regular rear seats, folded away when they aren’t needed, and removed from the truck completely.

The really interesting part is what happens after they come out. The design could allow the seats to be used around the tailgate or attached to things like benches, turning part of the truck’s interior into portable seating.

A patent never guarantees production, but it shows the idea hasn’t simply been forgotten.

Stellantis Is Finally Putting Quality Front And Center

Stellantis has taken plenty of criticism over quality issues, software bugs, recalls, and vehicles that sometimes reached customers before they felt completely finished.

CEO Antonio Filosa appears determined to change that.

The company has created nearly 50 internal “war rooms” designed to bring engineers, manufacturing workers, quality teams, and suppliers together to identify problems and solve them faster. Stellantis also added more than 2,000 engineers in 2025 and wants its vehicle segments ranking within the top 25% for quality by 2028.

The plan sounds promising, but the real test will be whether customers notice the difference when the next wave of new products launches.

Another Busy Week Is In The Books

This week’s five stories shared a common theme: Stellantis is trying to change how it does business in North America.

Ram continues to provide some of the brightest news. The Ram 1500 posted a huge sales gain in the third quarter, while the Rumble Bee 5.7 disappearing from its initial allocation in only 90 minutes shows plenty of enthusiasm for a reasonably priced HEMI-powered performance truck.

At the same time, Stellantis is changing how it advertises vehicles online and paying much more attention to improving quality before problems reach customers.

Even Ram’s removable jump-seat patent shows that creative ideas are still being developed behind the scenes.
