I was going to get a new F-150 and trade in my 2nd gen with 180k miles because I needed some actual room.
Which is hilarious, considering I spent all last winter pulling the motor, tearing it down, rebuilding it, and bleeding on every single rusted manifold bolt. After all that blood and sweat, I seriously considered replacing it with a full-size.
Then I looked in the mirror, remembered who I am, and realized how profoundly dumb that was (which is dumb, but not an idiot)
I kept the Tacoma, kept the detail appointment that was originally booked to list it (successfully washing away eleven years of dirt and deep existential dread), and used half the new-truck money to buy a 2021 4Runner with 35,000 miles on it instead.
Turns out the absolute best way to solve a "space problem" is just parking a second Toyota next to the first one. Crisis averted. Looking forward to another 200k miles on the first car I ever purchased in 2015.

Congrats on the new suv and on making a beautiful truck run better. Enjoy your hard work. Nothing like it.
Good move! Glad you came to your senses lol
Smart man.
Damn she fine
I brought a 2012 double cab spruce mica. 210k this summer.
after sweating, freezing my knee caps in the middle of January to repair my maintaining a 17 year old ranger 4×4 4.0L which I probably over invested in OEM Ford parts just because it was low mileage and was decent rust wise.
It thought me a lot, would I do it again probably not! So glad I’ve upgraded to a better daily!
I was offered my aunts, 2004 Honda Element EX in sunset Orange. 180k one owner, mint vehicle.
I turned the over down to buy a property instead. Property I’m glad I made the move and not another vehicle ( even if it would’ve been cool to have around) oh well, life.
Nice truck! I went the f150 route and I have to say the comfort and space is amazing. Still a Toyota fan though.
I think the 2.5 gen access cab is aesthetically a nearly perfect truck. I put 125k miles on my 2012 before making the mistake of buying a VW family hauler before reverting back to an FJ cruiser. I would still buy my Taco back in a heartbeat though.
