EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Evansville Police Department officials say a several people were arrested after a man on a moped was assaulted.
According to an affidavit, officers were dispatched to an accident with injuries on Sunday involving an SUV and a motorcycle, which later changed to a hit-and-run with injury.
Officers were informed that an SUV hit a motorcycle rider and the occupants were beating him up and that there was another vehicle, possibly an SUV, involved along with another motorcycle rider.
Officials say all occupants of both vehicles and the motorcycle rider all fled the scene.
According to the victim, an altercation took place at Los Bravos off North First Avenue. He told police he left Los Bravos and went across the street to Ivy Tech to get away from the individuals who were confronting him.

The victim told police that one of individuals then ran across the street after him at which point he left the parking lot of Ivy Tech and began riding SB on N First Ave. He then noticed that the black vehicle and motorcycle driver were following him so he then turned onto Allens Lane and then to West Idlewild Drive.
Officials say both SUVs and the motorcycle eventually followed the victim.
He said that the first SUV attempted to run him off the road and the second SUV eventually served over in his direction to intentionally hit him off his moped.
He told police the occupants of both vehicles got out of the vehicles and eventually began assaulting him by punching him to the ground and kicked him several times.
The suspects, later identified as Bryan Cooper, Gwendolyn Holstein, Ricky Holstein Jr., William Stockton and Ronnie Sanders, were arrested.
Officers located Cooper at his residence where Animal Control was also called in after they found insufficient food and water for 8 dogs.
Five puppies were also found in dirty cages and looked malnourished.
Police say the group denied knowing anyone involved in the altercation.
A detective also found a photo of the group eating together prior to the fight.
All of them were arrested and charged with assisting a criminal.
Ricky faces an additional charge of marijuana after a bag of around 11 grams was found in his vehicle.
All five suspects were booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail and face the following charges:
