She has had plenty of success on the track this summer, winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and setting the pace in the European Championships before finishing eighth over 10,000m.
The 24-year-old was in action at the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen this afternoon, being one of two athletes representing Great Britain in the field.
It was a whole new experience for Keith, who had never competed in a road championships before, and she threw herself in at the deep end by going up against the world’s best.
The Inverness Harrier ended up around 30 seconds from a podium spot, but was in the chasing pack behind the frontrunners.
She finished in 15th out of 42, recording a time of 15:19.
As a comparison point, compatriot Hannah Nuttall secured a top-10 finish with her time of 15:08, with Australian athlete Rose Davies finishing third in 14:50 and Ethiopian Likina Amebaw winning in a season’s best 14:41.
