Developed and produced in Brazil, the 2027 Ram Rampage introduces a new turbocharged 2.0-liter Turbo Hurricane4 Flex I4 engine. While the name might sound familiar, this isn’t the same Hurricane4 found in the 2026 Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL). Instead, this is a flex-fuel evolution of Stellantis’ proven GME-T4 engine, specifically engineered to run on gasoline, ethanol, or any blend of the two.
That flexibility is a big deal in markets like Brazil, where ethanol is widely available and often more affordable. For Ram, it also represents a strategic move to better tailor its products to regional demands.
Turbo Hurricane4 Flex: Built For Brazil

Under the hood, the new Turbo Hurricane4 Flex delivers a solid 272 horsepower and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque—regardless of whether it’s running on gasoline or ethanol. That consistency is key, especially in a segment where performance and efficiency both matter.
To make this engine work seamlessly with biofuels, Stellantis engineers went through an extensive list of upgrades. The turbocharger, fuel system, engine calibration, and even internal components like the intake manifold and cylinder head were all reworked. An ethanol sensor has also been added, allowing the engine to automatically adjust based on the fuel mixture in the tank.
The end result is a powertrain that maintains durability and performance while giving drivers more fueling options. It’s a practical solution for everyday use in South America, where fuel availability and pricing can vary significantly.
The new flex engine will be offered in the Laramie and R/T trims, with the R/T continuing as the performance-focused variant in the lineup.
Diesel Option Still In Play

For buyers who prefer diesel power, Ram isn’t abandoning that side of the equation. The 2.2-liter Multijet II I4 turbodiesel remains available, delivering 200 horsepower and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
That engine continues to be offered in the Big Horn, Rebel, and Laramie trims, giving customers a choice between fuel efficiency-focused diesel or the more versatile flex-fuel turbo gasoline setup.

Beyond the new engine, the 2027 Rampage also brings meaningful updates in comfort and technology. One of the biggest additions is a new driver’s seat memory system. Available standard on Laramie and R/T models (and optional on Rebel), the system allows drivers to save two seating positions—something that makes a noticeable difference for households sharing a vehicle.
Ram is also stepping up its safety game, particularly on the entry-level Big Horn model. For 2027, it gains a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including:
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
Pedestrian and cyclist detection
Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
Automatic High-Beam Headlights (AHB)
These features build on an already strong safety foundation that includes 6 airbags, stability and traction control, trailer sway control, four-wheel disc brakes, and full LED lighting.

The Rampage holds a unique place in Ram’s portfolio. It’s the brand’s first pickup developed and built entirely outside of North America, and it has quickly become a success story in South America—currently sitting near the top of its segment in sales.
With the addition of the Turbo Hurricane4 Flex engine and more standard technology, Ram is clearly doubling down on that success. The updates aren’t about reinventing the truck—they’re about refining it for the customers who rely on it every day.
The 2027 Ram Rampage is set to arrive in Brazilian dealerships starting in April, continuing its role as a key player in Ram’s global expansion strategy.
