Wrapped in Wave Maker blue paint, the redesigned 2026 Toyota Tundra is here in Grasso’s Garage.
Our weeklong tester, a 2026 Hybrid TRD Pro 4×4 was, in short, terrific. We noticed excellent comfort, great exterior appeal, and tons of usage – just a few reasons the 2026 Tundra satisfies consumers.
Powering our 2026 Tundra TRD-Pro tester was an i-FORCE MAX Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid, which offered 423 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque combined. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and 3 drive-modes, the Tundra was ready for highway driving, off-road multi-terrain, tow/haul mode and excellent crawl control. Additionally utilized on our weeklong tester were the 4WDemand Part-Time 4WD w/electronic controlled transfer case, electronic locking rear differential and FOX Shocks suspension. While riding on 18-inch BBS Forged-aluminum wheels, we found the Tundra was less stiff and rode better than previous models.
On the interior, the Tundra is quite nice and comfortable. We recognized a 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM and JBL 12-speaker Audio system with subwoofer and amplifier. The spacious interior boasts great legroom and excellently padded leather seats, while Toyota brings their usual safety features.
Toyota has always proven its brand by way of their historically excellent sales numbers. The flagship pick-up truck is no different, moving over 147,000 Tundras in 2025. Although the loaded up TRD-Pro model clocks in at $72K without added upgrades, it’s comparable pricewise to Ford, GM and Chevy. With a final assembly plant in San Antonio, Texas, the Toyota Tundra is on the top of its game and if you were ever in the market for one, I honestly believe now is the time to test drive one.
