Late last year, GM announced it was rolling out the new Stars & Steel Collection for the 2026 model year, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with patriotic styling upgrades for a vast swath of Chevrolet nameplates. Naturally, the collection includes a special edition version of the 2026 Chevy Colorado, which is based on the rugged Trail Boss trim. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look with the following photos, as well as highlighting pricing for the new package.
Pricing for the 2026 Chevy Colorado Stars & Steel Special Edition package is set at $13,455. However, buyers must add in two additional accessories in order to unlock it, specifically the accessory switch kit (RPO code VZJ, $475), and the accessory power distribution box (RPO code VBP, $715). For reference, the base-cost for the 2026 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss starts at $42,595, placing the fully equipped special edition well into the mid-$50,000 range before any additional options.
Like the standard Trail Boss, the special edition model is equipped with four-wheel drive as standard, as well as with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, paired with the GM eight-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of content, the Stars & Steel Special Edition bundles together several existing options with unique visual enhancements, starting with Convenience Package II (RPO code PCW) and the Technology Package (RPO code CWM), which add comfort, driver assistance, and infotainment upgrades. The Midnight Edition (RPO code WJP) is also part of the package, highlighted by a distinctive sail panel featuring a laser-etched “1776 USA Flag 2026” design.
Functional upgrades include a spray-on bedliner (RPO code CGN) and the Skid Plate Package (RPO code PCQ), enhancing durability for off-road use.
Additional features round out both form and function, with exclusive Stars & Steel Special Edition graphics (RPO code SHT), all-weather floor liners (RPO code RIA), and rocker panel protectors (RPO code S6L). Red recovery hooks (RPO code ULK) emphasize its off-road readiness, while a Premier soft roll-up tonneau cover improves cargo management (RPO code VPB). Finishing touches include a Chevrolet Performance black exhaust tip (RPO code VTA).
Buyers can choose from Summit White and Black when it comes to the exterior colors.
Under the body panels, you’ll find the the updated GMT31XX platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Wentzville Assembly plant in Missouri.
