Jeep® Gladiator Sahara Returns For 2027

Jeep® is keeping the Sahara badge on the Gladiator for 2027, giving buyers a comfort-first alternative to the truck’s rough-and-tumble off-road trims.

The Sahara basically fills the gap left behind when Jeep dropped the Gladiator Overland. You still get the core open-air freedom and proper four-wheel drive (4×4) you expect from a Jeep truck, but it brings a noticeably nicer cabin and painted exterior bits to the table. It’s built for people who want a Gladiator that’s just as easy to live with on a Monday morning commute as it is on a weekend road trip or down a dirt trail.

Jeep gave the Sahara a clearer appearance than most other Gladiator models. Instead of the black plastic flares as some of the other models, the Sahara gets body-color fender flares and a body-color three-piece hardtop. The more upscale look carries right down to the 18-inch machined gray aluminum wheels wrapped in all-season rubber.

LED headlights and fog lamps come standard, and they do a noticeably better job of lighting the road at night than older setups—whether you’re on a dark two-lane or just heading home late from work.

Inside, the upgrades are focused on comfort and convenience rather than trail-ready durability. The seats are covered in McKinley leather and come heated as standard, along with a heated steering wheel. Remote start and proximity keyless entry are also included without requiring any packages.

The tech setup gets a solid bump, too. A 7-inch digital gauge cluster sits in front of the driver, and the center stack is dominated by a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. The screen is responsive, the menus are straightforward, and it handles navigation, media, and phone integration without feeling outdated.

Under the hood you’ll find the familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. It puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, sent through an 8-speed 850RE automatic. The power comes on smoothly and predictably, so merging onto the highway feels easy and the transmission doesn’t constantly search for the right gear.

It still handles real truck duties when called upon. Equip it with the optional tow package, and the Sahara is rated for up to 6,000 pounds of towing and has a payload capacity of around 1,200 pounds. That is plenty enough for pulling a small boat, hauling dirt bikes, or loading up camping gear for the weekend.

Jeep explicitly avoided tuning this into another trail-focused model. You still get proper 4Ă—4 capability and the full utility of the five-foot bed, but everyday comfort and curb appeal take center stage here.

2027 Jeep® Gladiator Sahara in Black. (Jeep).
Pricing and Availability

The 2027 Jeep Gladiator Sahara starts at $48,315. Factor in the $1,995 destination charge, and the entry point sits at $50,310 before you add taxes, registration, or extra options.

The color palette at launch includes:

Bright White
Hydro Blue
Granite Crystal
Black
’41

Bright White and Hydro Blue come at no extra cost, while Granite Crystal, Black, and ’41 each add $595 to the sticker price.

The Sahara definitely skips the heavy-duty hardware found on a Rubicon or Mojave, but extreme rock crawling isn’t the goal here. Its return gives Gladiator buyers a genuinely comfortable, polished daily driver without taking away the removable roof, practical bed, or open-air personality that makes this truck stand out from everything else on the road.
