For $18, it’s ok. But if you’re looking to hold an edge for any amount of time, you’ll be disappointed if you’re actually using it to cut cardboard or rope.

They’re an old brand that has pretty much stayed out of the current popular knife realm. I often wonder what it’s like at their idea meetings – I mean, they know what is popular and what sells, and they’re equipped to make whatever, but they continue to make stuff that isn’t popular. I’m imagining their designers are like 80yo men who still base their ideas off their 1970 catalogue. However, that one you have there looks at lest modern, but yeah… Aus10 isn’t steller anymore, but at $18, no worries.

They’ve always made decent cheap knives, but they’ve also always run their steel soft. 20 years ago, I didn’t know any better but now I don’t think I’d consider using one. I don’t mind ‘budget’ steels at all, I just want them properly hardened. Miguron is a good example of a company that gets the most out of cheaper steels. Their newer knives have excellent blades. Probably going to pick one up soon just to mess with, but I’ve heard they might drop some new m390 knives in the near future so I’ll probably wait for that.

I think they were bought out a while ago by I think a chinese company. I don’t necessarily dismiss them out of hand, but to me, they occupy the same niche as Flissa or Ganzo- very budget knives. Nothing wrong with that, but I think it’s useful for managing expectations.
