By the time I got into this madness the original FW series were already discontinued. The 14500 format is a bit of a thing for myself, so now that Lumintop has re-released the FWAA family I could not resist.

I got myself the FW1AA in “silver” aluminium and copper. I must say these lights are very stylish. I really like the design, and I think it’s very elegant. And these re-release models don’t feature any markings which is a huge plus.

The copper version has almost a mirror-like finish and it looks gorgeous out of the box! It’s also an absolute fingerprint magnet. Wiping the fingerprints off with a soft cloth was also enough to make fine scuffs on the surface (as can be seen on pic #4). It’ll be interesting to follow how it develops patina 🙂

The silver aluminium is super nice! I think it has a clear anodization on it, as the surface has a satin-like finish and it doesn’t feel like bare metal. It looks and feels very pleasant, and it doesn’t collect fingerprints. Somehow the light fools my brain every time I pick it up as you expect it to be heavier than it is. But it’s very light.

    Bought from the [lumintop.eu](http://lumintop.eu) store.

Some details about the lights. The bezel is not glued. Lens has purple AR coating on it.

Button feels nice to operate with little resistance. But it’s not very precise, and it is easy to make miss clicks when playing around with Anduril.

The driver is V1.1 and my understanding is that it is the same version the light launched with originally. No flashing pads, and the installed firmware dates way back. Version check says 202009270312.

It’s a shame the driver or even the firmware hasn’t been updated. But for me it’s ok. It’s still Anduril 2 and it has the essential features in it. After all, it’s the aesthetic design that appeals to me the most in this light.
