Hey guys! Tragic news, I just lost my old brass zippo lighter with a dual jet insert. I loved it despite having to replace the insert twice and constantly having to refill the butane even if I didnt use it. Can anyone recommend me a better alternative to the zippo? Things a classic but it dropped the ball sometimes, I usually use it for quick repairs on wires (heat shrink) or to start fires so I don’t think electrical lighters will work for me. If anyone can recommend a portable jet lighter that’d be awesome

I had the same problems with my zippo branded insert. I got fed up and ordered a coldown insert instead, keeps gas forever. You could replace the zippo and get the coldown insert. It’s only around $12 on amazon

Clipper stainless steel butane lighter or torch. Hard to find in the wild, but I got my torch on AliExpress.
I really like the Soto Pocket Torch. I use the extendable neck for starting backpacking stoves, but have found it useful for lighting barbecues, water heater pilot lights, fireworks, etcetera. Torches are the way to go for starting fires, especially under less-than ideal conditions.
