WK-03: Nicely build, low-cost but sadly hazard!!!

Just received my WK-03 today, I bought it brand new for less than $10 (214.000 VND) for SST40 with 3000mAh battery.

The build, and coating is high quality. Tailcap and headcap can be smoothly removed, the thread has a trapezoid shape, no sharp point, it is rigid and easily rotating around.

It comes with a transparent TIR lens. The beam looks smooth, and even.

The UI is simple enough, 1 click to turn on/off. Holding while on, to change level. Holding while off to enter moonlight. Highly appreciate the simplicity of the UI.

I much prefer this light over the old cheap one which I have to go through every mode to turn off, and have no moonlight mode, which frustrated me many times.

And one more thing… It is compact, small and lightweight, which can be easily carried around as a daily item.

However there are major flaws in this light which I can't recommend or gift this WK-03 to anyone in my family.

1. It can easily toggle on by mistake, because of its location and the button can be pressed with little force.

2. The ATR – Advanced thermal regulation? I don't see it helping since the flashlight can be extremely hot 🔥 🔥 🔥 to touch, if I enter turbo mode or high.

Let me tell you the incident I met today, I'm trying to sleep with a thin blanket laid out on the floor. The 20cm mattress is right beside me, so I also lean my back on it.

And my WK-03 I forgot to put it on the table, so it fell right behind my back.

I dreamed, and was sweating, in and out, and my back was hot, I thought it was because of my body. Then I reached over my back. And guess what, the flashlight was turned on, with turbo or high mode, I'm not sure.

The whole flashlight was so hot that I couldn't even hold it for a few seconds without getting burnt. I tried to remove the tailcap to get the battery out. Successfully after several tries. And quickly rushed to the fan to cool both down.

Sadly that is such a high quality build WK-03 has poor safety thermal regulation like that.

Much love if The high mode, and turbo can be disabled/remove completely.
