I chose the Buck 119 special and the KA-BAR USMC knives as my most classic. The Buck 110 could easily fit here in place of the 119. What do you think?

For me the 110 edges out the 119 just a tad, but only because my dad carried one when we went camping as a kid. I remember he forgot the can opener once and he used his Buck knife to open a can of Bush’s baked beans and I thought it was the the most badass knife in the world after that.

The Ka-Bar is definitely up there though. I have an old Ka-bar that was carried by a family member in WW2 that was passed down to me and even though it’s beat to hell, it’s still one of my most prized knifes.

The Kabar is a piece of history, there are much better fixed blades, full tang vs. stick tang. But every collection needs a Kabar imho.

The Ka-Bar knife was already in widespread use long before Buck Model 110 hunter was introduced. The Ka-Bar (USMC Mark 2) was adopted in 1942, while the iconic, mass-produced Buck 110 was introduced in 1964.

Kabar usmc and 110. Theres a decent chance an average non knife person will know what a Ka-Bar is, as well as a “buck knife” folder.
I think the 119/120 is relatively well known but not as much as the kabar and 110.
