Why is the Spyderco Manix 2 able to achieve such a crisp detent while other crossbar-style locks (Axis, Ram, etc.) seem to be so floppy?

I recently sold a Benchmade Mini Bugout and a Microtech Ram-Lok Stitch because their detents were so unsatisfying. What makes the Manix 2, which operates on a similar mechanism using a spring to jam something behind the blade tang, so crispy on deployment?
