Three months with the Lochby Field Sling

TL;DR A quality bag that I’ve been loving, but wish it was *slightly* bigger

So I ordered the Lochby Field Sling on January 8th, and as of today I’ve been using it exactly three months.

Disclaimer: I don’t carry this bag every day…just most of them. I have a Patagonia 10L Stealth Sling for days I need more space, although sometimes I honestly just throw the Lochby bag in the main compartment of that bag.

My only two complains about the Lochby bag is I always feel like I could use just an inch more space in either direction, and the waxed canvas is a magnet for pet hair.

Pictured is about as full as I ever have it. The wallet and multi-tool will usually be in my pockets, but go in the bag on days I’m lacking pocket space. I often carry an ereader for “on the go” reading, but some days (like today) I’ll have a physical book I want to bring with me vs reading it exclusively at home.

Overall this is a good bag for me. While the size felt prohibitive at first, I ended up appreciating how it made me simplify my setup, and like the minimalist look and feel. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and super easy to open and close with just one hand.
