Im debating what pocket clip to put on this military 2. I’ve had two spydercos with mxg clips on each but the screws on the clips would always dig into my pockets so the deep carry was really shitty. I know lynch clips are popular but im worried it would have a similar issue with the screws. Am i the only one who has this issue? Im also debating if I should have a black or a satin clip on the knife.
The knife is fantastic. It blows all previous spydercos I have had out of the water. I used to have an REC avocado PM2 but the proportions just seemed off, not enough blade for the size of the handle if you ask me. Also it had terrible lock stick that seemed unfixable. Ended up selling it.
Also mini rant/psa: I got this prebuilt directly from AWT. They sell some knives with awt scales installed on them “pre tuned”. But I would never recommend it to anybody. The knife had absolutely awful lock stick, rough action, and absolutely no loctite so the screws would just fall out. Not to mention it was dirty on the blade and the show side has some miscoloration on the bottom end of the scales but not very noticeable. Still, I’ve bought blemished scales from AWT where there was nothing noticeable at all. I had to completely disassemble it and go out and buy my own loctite so the knife wouldn’t just fall apart when i was carrying it and completely reassembled and tuned it myself. Now its great! Still annoying though.
It also took nearly 3 weeks to arrive and I didnt receive any tracking and my order number just disappeared from the website. I contacted support to see if I could get an update and they were honestly kind of condescending and saying that I can find the order on the account attached to my email and I would recieve an email when it shipped. They confirmed that it was connected to my account and email but I still never received anything for it and was worried that they just forgot about it somehow lol. It did show up randomly eventually but I had no way of knowing it was out for delivery or where it was at all. I was just lucky to be home when it arrived. It won’t even let me leave a review because for some reason it doesn’t say anything in my accounts purchases despite support saying it was under my account.
I don’t think theres any redeeming qualities for buying the prebuilt knives from their website. The whole reason I bought it was because I was lazy and knew i was gonna get their scales anyway when i bought the knife and figured if they could tune it for me then I would kill two birds with one stone but it ended up just causing me more trouble than if I just bought them separately. I can easily recommend the knife and scales but don’t buy them prebuilt.
