So I found this while cleaning out my mom’s. It was on the wall when I was little and I’d love to see it work again. It took it all apart and cleaned it well. I put 2 new D cells in it but it won’t light up. The bulb is gray, so I hope it just didn’t work because the bulb is out. It looks to be very simple mechanically. Does anyone know how I could change it over to an LED bulb or do I have to stick with the 2.5V .5A one?

You can confirm the bulb is bad with a multimeter and continuity check.
Believe that’s just a standard E10 type bulb, so it’s possible with some hunting you may be able to find an LED E10 that will accept 2.5-3v in.
