I didn't have much thought as to what the end result would be for this, but the end result is one that i absolutely love. However, my boss/mentor says that the handle is too plain for a damascus blade. Personally i see the asthetic to be a less is more for this piece but what do you think?

To clarify, I made this on behalf of the forge I work at so it's not up to me to decide but i can't let this arguement go for some reason. May end up buying it for myself

  1. Japanese knife makers have been using “plain” wooden handles for centuries, as have others.

  2. Maybe add a bit of mineral oil(or similar) to darken the wood up a touch. Simple can be beautiful too!

Damascus patterns aren’t really plain in my book.

Typically they look best with dark wood, so maybe stain the handle?
