heya, I bought this knife in Paris. I want to refurbish it as much as i can myself either what limited tools I have. I do plan though on having a shop grind a point on it and redo the blade as there is unsurprisingly a good deal of chipping. That said it is in excellent condition for more than a century old.

Dude. That is not in great condition. It has been sharpened on (or) with an angle grinder multiple times, has been seriously thinned out and pitted over the years.

Let this one go, no matter how much you like it. It won’t really be usable nor will it perform great. It might be a great petty knife with a new handle material, but even then the heat treat might be fubar based on the previous grinding signs
