I’ve often seen Hanklights praised and I didn’t truly understand why. As I delved further, I slowly understood the appeal of customization and Anduril but I didn’t see anything that could truly sway my wallet. Seeing the D3AA with dual fuel and efficiency was enough to wow me into pulling the trigger. Boy am I impressed with what this tiny boy can achieve! Hot rod when it wants to be but can be the moderate gentleman.

It’s not without it’s flaws though. The edges are a bit sharp and could’ve been rounded out a bit better. That knurling is grippy but also a great dirt trap. The o-ring was pretty awful and I fear I damaged them already when unscrewing it to pop my battery in.

Just for fun, last picture has the S6, S2+, and the D3AA all with 519a 5700K dedomed for a tint comparison. Think this will see a lot more usage for daily carry!

I’ve seen that comment leveled at Emisar lights before, and when I actually inspect the light, I guess I can see where your coming from, but I never personally notice until it’s pointed out to me.

All that aside, I’m loving my D3AA. The spot optic is the way to go if you get a domed 519a. I am kind of wishing I’d got an LED with more throw though. I’d like to try the FFL351a emitters when they come back in stock on JLHawaii808’s website. Maybe those would be better.
