Just for shits and giggles I ordered some parts from convoy. A 3v 8a buck driver and a 17mm pcb with a sft40 5000k. And man, this thing gets hot! And bright!, really fun to see such a small flashlight get so bright. I’ll try some tir lens later and see if I can get it to throw more. But as a comparison it is about twice as bright as my ts10, if I can trust my phone light sensors.
