Inspired by [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Leatherman/comments/17jzr75/arcifed_p2/) by u/jway5929 (thanks for the idea!), I decided to mod my own Leatherman Free P2. Like many of us here, I have a bit of a fascination with finding/ creating the perfect everyday carry set of gadgets and gizmos for myself, and as soon as I saw jway’s Frankenstein upgraded ARC tool set in the slimmer profile of the P2… I knew I had to make one too.
I took a pair of calipers to everything on both tools and [built a spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTqN8mHIWE9VC5sghlyX5CVjtlh9SUo8sbkyeKt-XC2aMBmNKNI4h18HwqSIXG1Yv9qcJwtZGuzV3xs/pub?output=pdf) to help build out what I think is a pretty damned good final set of tools. I was able to fit in everything I thought was most useful, but the one thing to make note of is that I was only able to fit in 1 of the two spring arms on the knife-side arm so I could fit in the Awl as well. It works fine overall with the weaker spring action, honestly it’s really only mildly annoying because the magnet will tend to pull the tools back down unless you intentionally deploy them further out initially, more so than the other arm. I can live with that.
As a bonus mod, I was also inspired by [this youtube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOq62x8TjHA) (also linked by jway) and added a hidden extra LM squashed bit under the scissors, held in place by a small magnet glued into a hole I drilled in one of the flat-side scales. I think 90% of the squashed bits LM shipped with the ARC are more or less useless and not worth carrying on my person every day, so I just grabbed the two most useful ones. Working well so far!
And as a last bonus, I also included a few photos of a belt I made to horizontal carry it. The ARC is definitely too bulky for pocket carry, and the P2 is on the cusp IMO. But carrying on a belt, just on next to the buckle has been awesome. Thin and out of the way, quicker to deploy than in a pocket, and you can squat and lunge without it digging into your thigh!
