I have been waiting for the day I could give my son a multitools for years. The “bladeless” multitool market is quite sparse to say the least. The best options I found were the Victorinox Jetsetter, Gerber MP600 bladeless, and Leatherman Knifeless Rebar. About 4 months ago I had him try several of my multitools and he kept saying the rebar was too difficult but he liked the MP600 style. So last week I was finally able to gift him his first Gerber MP600 (bladeless). His level of excitement was what we all would hope for too. He had a grin from ear to ear and said “I love it!”

Oh, I forgot to say: I waited until I gave it to him to ask what he wanted engraved on it. We have a laser engraver at work that is open to anyone to use so I etched in his name and this year’s birthday. Then I rubbed the etch with some brass to get it shiny with brass dust, then hit it with a torch to hopefully hold some of that brass in there. If not then I might try solder or aluminum next.
