My desk for the next 3 months i really liked the natural composition of this photo that covers my non spicy EDC

  My spiritual armor my grandmothers religious articles worn for protection and as a reminder of her and how far our family has come in 130 years 

       Barely visible is a tiny tin that originally contained percussion caps but after thorough cleansing make a wonderful air and water tight container for any little non ingestables (percussion caps consist entirely of a tiny thin sheet metal cup filled with mercury fulminate I think currently they use a less poisonous shock sensitive substance but my bet from reading all the health warnings it this is still not a good place to store pills , breath mints or a communion wafer) I keep this one filled with a tinder mix I use almost nightly (when we are out hunting we end the evening with a quick camp fire sit with a cold beer and if we were successful I clean the catch and roast off a few coon legs for the dogs) my personal mixture 75% raw cotton balls and 25% fine steel wool carefully separated and combined with the pulled cotton wearing gloves and packed into the container I am using I fill to the top with melted petroleum jelly to use pull a pinch and fluff it slightly and ignite using whatever method you have available (the addition of the steel wool means if you needed to you could ignite by rolling a rough “string” between your plans and with the battery from the head lamp take aech end of your string and touch  to each terminal it should begin to smoke and either burst into flames after some sparks or create and ember !)

Still on my person not pictured : surgical shears in belt holster Temu $4 they are of great use for cleaning small game and fish for foraging or cleaning frogs ! As well as the more normal uses where a knife is less safe and i clean them by breaking them down scrub thoroughly with dish soap spraying them down with hydrogen peroxide allowing them to air dry and finally coating them lightly in ballistol and re assembling them!

    327 3” Taurus that I swapped from DAO to SA/DA by changing the sear and and factory bobbed hammer to a full spur hammer . Front sight is a factory tritium night sight I have regulated the sights to 20 yards with my standard hot .32 H&R wadcutters( it also roughly to zero with every other load if shooting shorts which I sometimes hunt with it basically requires 2” higher elevation) and using a very thin jewelers bit I dimpled the rear sight trough where I had marked it for my carry load using a sharpie then used the dimples to place a dot on either side  of the sight trough using a orange phosphorescent orange paint once died I outlined the dots  using black model enamel then when dried with the gun secured in a vise and a magnifier and a work light using the finest model painting brush I could find I always carry 3 speed strips carrying my carry load in the car I keep hunting ammo plinking ammo and Buffalo bore heavy +p .327 fed mag rounds 

I bought it brand new on sale from my LGS for $275 I also carry a pug .22wrm chambered NAA revolver in a shoulder holster made also by naa the pistol was a garage sale find for $150 it also wears high profile tritium sights and a beretta 21a covert which day to day sits in my right front pocket in a suede pocket holster when I’m in the field it wears its suppressor and lives in a kydex and suede open carry left kidney side and 3 spare mags loaded with fragmenting hollow points 45 grain I keep a low cost suppressor in the vault in the car $150.
