I always have my packout toolbox full of hand and power tools alongside an emergency/first aid/disaster bag in my trunk, many days I like to just keep it to a minimum as to what’s on my person and today is one of those days.
Here (from right to left) I have an Olight imini 2, and Victorinox Deluxe Tinker with plus scales. I genuinely love the small pliers in this SAK. Very useful for the occasional small bolt or simply grabbing small items.
To pair with that I carry the Leatherman Surge saw and file kit, that stores flat into my wallet. I forget it in there most of the time. I added heat shrink wrap to the shanks so that they fit nice and snug with the parcel hook. If you are unfamiliar with this pairing, Felix Immler has a very nice video on how one can use tshank saw blades in your Victorinox.
Next item is from a maker on Etsy called JovtokHub. It’s just a keychain holder for the Leatherman double sided micro bit. What was nice is that it came with a very small but loud emergency whistle as a gift alongside it.
Which i recommend everyone carry whether hiking or in office. If you ever find yourself stuck or buried, you can blow on a whistle for a lot longer than you can shout for help.
I really like this setup as it keeps it simple as Phone, keys, wallet, and knife. The flashlight, whistle and eyeglass driver simply live on my keys, the saw and file in my wallet, and the SAK in my pocket.
It’s all very in a pinch and doesn’t do a job as well as a more dedicated set of tools. But I always have a plethora within arms reach or with me in my car anyways.
