I'm thinking about buying this Nitecore HC70 UHE headlamp. I have a bunch of other flashlights and headlamps, but for working in my attic, crawlspace, or under my car, I use my old Nitecore HC50 more than any other light I own. The HC 50 has served me well for about 8 years now, but I think I can get a little more brightness and runtime from a newer headlamp that uses a 21700 battery and more efficient LEDs.

I want a headlamp that has as much runtime as possible in its Medium mode. I'm hoping for a regulated 250-500 lumen mode that lasts 12+ hours.
I want a dedicated headlamp that is "T" shaped, and symmetrical.
I do NOT want a right angle headlamp.
(I have an Olight H2R that I rarely use because it is right angle)
I want a very wide beam with smooth edges. My use is for working on things within arm's reach.

I haven't seen a review of the HC70 UHE online yet, but I saw a review and runtime graph of the HC65 UHE which started at 400 lumens and dropped to around 150 lumens which it held until 11.5 hours.

I don't see Nitecore lights getting much love in this sub. What alternatives would you suggest that I look at? Must be "T-shaped".

Here are the 21700 headlamps that I know of that fits your requirements.

One of the most popular 21700 headlamps and gets recommended quite a bit is this Acebeam H30.

Good luck with your decision and hopefully one of those will work for you. 👍
