This is the foundation of every backcountry kit I have and gets carried regardless of whether Im doing a quick day hike, on a backpacking trip, hunting, fishing, or on a SAR operation. The only change is for SAR where Im not allowed to carry a firearm so instead the firearm pocket gets filled with my radio, a notebook, operation information (maps, subject description, etc), and my phone.
The intent of the kit is to keep all my frequently used tools close at hand and to function as a basic medical and survival kit if Im separated from whatever pack Im carrying for my activity.

Nice kit.
I was like that’s gotta be sar. What are the shot shells for? Snakeshot?
This is rock solid.
Does Simms no longer make those gloves? I don’t see them on their website.
