This SOG Trident AT is a knife I bought to complete my set of SOG AT-XR knives. I love the AT knives but the Trident is my least favorite out of the three. It's the most 'tactical' out of the three so I have to be in the mood for carrying that kind of knife. It's my least favorite sub-genre. Although, I do have plenty of that type in my collection that I do enjoy. Like the Aegis and Flash, the Trident is big and beefy while still being pocketable. The blade fires open when you deploy it. The lock-bar is easy to close the knife one- handed. It's surprisingly ergonomic for how it looks. The OD green is dark enough that it looks black most of the time. The clip-point blade blade is the longest of the three. It has a glass breaker and a belt cutting slot. All the tactical features.

My biggest complaint is the pocket clip and where it's located. It ends right at the belt cutting slot, making the knife easier to snag on the hem of my pocket. The AT-XR knives are all in that sweet spot where they're tank of a knife at a price that doesn't make you hesitate to put them to use. A tactical knife that is supposed to be versatile and lightning fast to deploy but is difficult to pull from your pocket misses it's intended purpose. I still like it, but I just like the Aegis and the Flash more.

You might get some hate for liking SOG, but I do like a few of their designs and hope they can up their QC.

I keep the SOG Trident in my car for the glass breaker and seatbelt cutter. I have the black handle with bright red thumb stud and lock for better visibility. I don’t carry it so the pocket clip is less relevant for me. Feels like an inexpensive knife but still functional in a pinch. Could have worse options in an emergency.
