“Budget” EDC pt. 2!

It’s been about half a year since my last post here, and I’ve made some changes to my EDC! The last pic was my EDC half a year ago.

The biggest changes

Changing from a Gordon multitool (Harbor freight leatherman clone) to a SOG powerpint. Frankly for what I do, lugging around a 12oz multitool just didn’t make sense. The powerpint provides excellent performance at ~4oz.

Changed the knife from a CJRB Bolt to a Spyderco Para 3. This is where I stretch the term “budget”. While I like the CJRB bolt ergonomics, frankly the steel just didn’t keep a working edge long enough for what I do. The Para 3 outperforms it in every category, but is $180-200 vs $60. Stays working sharp for way longer, smoother action (after some fiddling) and there are no hotspots during prolonged use. Probably gonna by my forever knife until I either lose or break it.

Upgraded the pen from a zebra f301 to f701. Love the all metal construction.

Still using the Braun (harbor freight) 200-400 lumen light.
