Edit: (afterthought) I think this would be ten times better if the tailcap were magnetic. That way it could work as like a controllable lamp/light source for a metal cabinet or something similar.

Divers use beacons. Although the Glo Toob lights are purpose built for diving, I have a few for backpack beacons and emergency lights. I’ll probably pick one of these up for similar use if the price is right.
