This is an outdoor machete I designed. How else can I optimize it?

Get rid of the finger choil, bring it straight back and add a bigger flare to where the knife meets the scales. Be way easier to sharpen with it being a machete.

Throw a guard on that bad boy, and make the blade straighter. Alright blades are easy to sharpen, I like the forward weight though should make a great machete.

Why does your machete have a finger choil?

I personally dislike the recurve shape, but to each their own. It’s easier to sharpen without it.

You could probably make it a little longer too, unless it’s really thick.

There is a reason mustaches arent a recurve. Hard to sharpen and binds up in actual use.

Less recurve, no finger choil, maybe a bit ot a guard to stop hand from slipping up

I dont like any of the advice so far, i like the finger choil it makes sparking a flint easier. And the blade shape rocks it adds personal flair.
