So lucky to have snagged this incredible fully handmade piece by Thys Meades at NOCKI this past weekend. This guy is an absolute maestro and the fact that this is a fully handmade knife that has better action than any machined knife I’ve ever owned blows my mind. The fit and finish are top notch and I’m in love with the classic shape mixed with the clever modern aesthetics like the extruded liners with polished chamfered edges that just make the look POP. This is his latest model and this is only number 4, including the prototype. South African makers like Meades and Mitch Clark are really pushing the custom knife world into modernity with their devotion to detail, feel, and the ephemeral qualities of knives that us in the hobby are always chasing.
