I’ve been trying to dial in my EDC and keep going back and forth between a dedicated folding knife and a multitool.

A good folder seems better for actual cutting tasks, cleaner, stronger, and just feels more purpose built.

But at the same time, multitools seem way more practical for everyday situations with all the extra functions.

For those of you who carry regularly, which do you find yourself actually using more day to day?
And do you ever feel like you’re missing out by not carrying the other?

Trying to keep my setup simple but still useful.

I daily carry a victorinox swisstool mx clip, and I love it. I almost always just have the tool for any little fix I may need to do. Sure a dedicated knife would maybe be a bit better; but I have a knife that’s pretty damn sharp with me, so who cares.

I carry a multitool and a small fixed blade. I’ve had folding knives close on my hands and leave nasty cuts in the past so I don’t trust them anymore. Can’t beat a good fixed blade but nothing beats the utility of a good multitool.

Either or for me. I usually just go with what I feel like carrying that day, but I won’t carry both because I find it inconvenient and not worth the hassle.
