I wanted to try this emitter in 5000k so I reflowed onto my spare sc31pro and kept the stock gasket & reflector. Because the reflector bottom hole is larger I couldn’t get any of my convoy gaskets to work well with the reflector.
It’s not too shabby! There is still an outer ring but the hotspot is perfectly round.
The 5000k 42r hotspot suffers from the yellow stuff like the 25r but it bothers me less for some reason.
Definitely an improvement from the sst40.
The tint is overall enjoyable, theres plenty of output, & the hotspot is nice and defined which is useful on a reflector this weird/ poorly focused.
