Was cleaning out my dad’s place and found a few knives. This one had me curious as to what its used for, seems like it would have a specific purpose. Anyone?

Marlin spike. For splicing line or loosening knots, etc.

I don’t know what the tapered hole blade is for.

Thats a sailors swiss army knife or survival knife. The spike is called a Marlinspike, used to untie knots and the loop tool is a shackle opener or shackle key designed to tighten or loosen screw-pin shackles on rigging.

I had a similar knife I used for sailing, the tool close to the knife is useful for opening shackles, I never used the awl though, not sure if these were initially intended for on ships..
