Knew 14c’s corrosion resistance was high, but felt like doing an impromptu test. Cool to see how it fared after some food prep. Knife is Vosteed Mini Lab.

I have a kitchen knife in 14C28N that has a similar patina on it. It’s a fantastic knife, but it’s just a reminder that the cheaper “stainless steels,” while having nowhere near the edge stability of pricier labelled steels, are really optimized to be nearly rust-proof and are stupidly easy to sharpen.

14c is one of my favorite steels. Stainless and tough, sharpens crazy good. Fun stuff especially on larger blades.
