It was found between the floor boards and ceiling of one of the bathrooms in my house during remodelling. The house was built in 1950. It has the previous owners name on the handle, and another name with the same last name written on the sheath.
Can anyone tell me anything about this machete? About its origins and how old it is?
Sheath:
It has 1966 on the sheath, and the letters “VIZ MFG. CO.” (Third photo)
It also looks like the sheath isn’t original to the actual machete based on the shape of the blade.
The actual machete:
The blade has “Made in Sheffield England” inscribed towards the handle
The blade looks old and rusted
It has a rounded top which I thought was odd
The handle is cracked
