High end knives (and guns, many other examples) are in many ways functional art. People spend a ton on art you put on a wall, at best and look at it once every now and then. Or an autograph from someone. But high end knives can be displayed in the same way, are useful, and the fidget factor is notable… That’s how I explained the situation to a friend who said something similar and I could see the lighbulb turn on in his mind lol.
