Recently my life’s pretty great so I decided to take a full day to myself to go to some different museums and parks about a week ago. I went to Taft Museum, Mercantile Library, Cincinnati Art Museum, Eden Park, Morsel & Nosh for lunch and had dinner at a friend’s place. I elected to go mostly phone-free, although I left it turned off rather than leaving it at home (for emergencies, as well it houses my payment cards). Here is my write up from the day.

Maxpedition Keystone Versipack – I don’t really care for this one as it’s quite bulky and overbuilt, however it was given to me for free. It’s quite comfortable otherwise. I am currently saving up for a Savotta Kukkaro (big Savotta fan).

Nalgene Oasis – My everyday water bottle. I use this at work, on walks, with friends, everywhere. I love this thing. It's lightweight and fits nicely into a cargo pocket without any drama. I get a lot of curious questions about it, I tell people that if I can hold it like a burger, I'm more likely to consume whatever is inside of it…

Nite-Ize keyring, car and home keys as well as a Nite-Ize carabiner and a Doohickey. My favorite flashlight ever, the Olight iMini 2, and a tile tracker.

Alpaka Zip Pouch – Holds my literal EDC, what I carry every single day and I don’t leave without it. Small tools, meds, a pen, mini-SAK etc. Nothing too fancy but everything in there gets used reasonably often. I also keep emergency cash in it. This goes in a pocket and you’ll almost never catch me without it. I put this together as a birthday gift to myself last year.

Casio F91W- My tried and true favorite watch. I’ve had a number of these since I was really young, and my most recent one I’ve had a little a year now and it’s still in fantastic shape. I do not wear it every day but seeing as I am leaving my phone off….

Bic lighter in case with some gorilla tape around it – Standard carry for me, made redundant by mini-Bic in the pouch but whatever.

Generic Amazon pill container with a ranger band and a couple other meds – Tylenol, Ibuprofen and caffeine. Nothing fancy, carry it often. Always looking for recommendations for better things here though.

Dove travel deodorant – I was given a few of these free, they don’t have much utility for me normally but seeing as I’m gonna be out all day, it could be useful

Purell hand sanitizer – I use these often and generally refill them when I can but this one was unused before my day.

Anker Soundcore P30i – Great little earbuds that have noise cancelling and decent battery life. I use these pretty much daily and for over a year now they’ve been solid. No complaints other than the weird touch controls (always activated by sweat).

Generic mini-wipes – Great for sanitizing surfaces as well as larger wipe-down procedures. I prefer my hand sanitizer for most things but I have a few packs of these laying around and thought, why not. They did get used a couple times that day, so I feel good about bringing them along.

SOG Multitool – not sure of the model specifically but it has a sharp blade and some well used tools inside. It’s also way less bulky than my Gordon multitool so I tend to carry it when I don’t have my full backpack with me. I found it on the airfield a few years ago and somehow has never gotten lost. I almost consider it a good luck charm at this point.

Generic Amazon sunglasses with a collapsible case – Gonna stay on my face or on my collar so I don’t mind including the case today, and it collapses down quite thin so no real space constraint. I also have a couple spare hair ties in there.

New Nintendo 3DS – Greatest handheld console in history (I say the same thing about my well-worn GBA). I do not carry this with me often as it’s quite expensive to replace. I do have a sleeve I keep it in, but it also has it's own protected front pocket here so I'm not super concerned. Currently replaying Pokemon Black 2. I was hoping to receive some streetpass notifications but alas, I got none…

Zebra G-750 gel pen – My current favorite pen! I’m still not much for super expensive pens but for under $10 I absolutely adore this one and use it often. I’m looking forward to many years with this one should it last that long.

Lochby Pocket Notebook, dot grid – Brand new to me, I love the understated raw look of it and I do use it to take notes, record spending, etc. It got used quite a bit for a single day! I’m still not totally sold on pocket notebooks but I do think with some time I’ll grow to love it. I cannot tell you if it’s worth $7 for one, but it took the gel pen well and felt nice to write on. Dot grid FTW.

Spare USB-A to USB-C cable – While I’m not using my phone today, I like to keep a power cable and a power bank around anyways. Not pictured is a slim Anker 10000mah power bank that I usually keep around me. Didn’t get used, but didn’t ruin my day to have nearby.

ONO Roller toy – I got this as a gift a couple years ago and I love it. It’s not something I intentionally pull out but rather I instinctively pull it out during anxious moments. It also helps me stay on track while brainstorming and stuff. It’s also a very nice weight for being aluminum.

Generic MP3 player – Has bluetooth, a 32gb card full of music, a built in camera (horrendous quality!) and a crazy good battery life for what it is. I quite enjoy it, small form factor and easy to pocket. I plan to use this more on phone-free days. Was a gift.

I’m open to any questions or suggestions! Thank you for reading. I hope the formatting is acceptable.
